"Stratford, We Hardly Knew You" is the second duo record of saxophonist Sam Weinberg and drummer Jason Nazary. This album comes a mere half year after the release of their duo offering "Au Revoir a Moultrie," and "Nihilartikles," an improvised collaboration between Weinberg, Nazary, and Berlin-based guitarist Nicola L. Hein. On 'Stratford' Weinberg and Nazary continue to refine their duo vocabulary – a highly detailed, personal take on the free jazz tradition. The two demonstrate remarkable and intense focus allowing them to quickly harness potent motives which they adroitly juggle.
